Solid Etalon Filters

Solid Etalon Filters have a well-defined periodically spaced frequency grid and are typically used for wavelength locking or dispersion compensation (all-pass filters). Customers typically specify the desired Free Spectral Range (FSR) and finesse along with the operating wavelength/frequency range. Our standard solid etalons have a finesse of about 5.6, and we also offer a low finesse solid etalon with a finesse of about 1.4.


Iridian Solid Etalon Filters Advantage:

Iridian manufactures a wide range of solid etalon filters where proprietary thin film design and deposition technologies are used to fabricate etalons with FSRs that are constant over a broad wavelength/frequency range. For example, Iridian fabricates 12.5GHz solid etalons with an ultra-low FSR tolerance < ?0.003GHz and ?0.005GHz over wavelength spans of 1520-1570nm and 1520-1620nm, respectively.
