About Spectrum Detector

Spectrum Detector, Inc. was founded in 2006 by Don Dooley, previous founder and CEO of Molectron Detector, Inc. The focus of this new venture is creative detector solutions to optical test, measurement and calibration problems across the spectrum - DUV to Extreme Infrared and THz.

Don has assembled a talented staff of people with more than 60 years combined experience in Pyroelectric detectors, Optical Instrumentation, Laser power and energy measurement products and NIST traceable Optical Calibration.

They've tried to identify unique measurement needs that require novel, versatile detector and instrument solutions. They have partnered with the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado to bring some exciting new Optical Standards technology out of the Lab and into industry. Spectrum has introduced the first family of Silicon and Pyroelectric TRAP Detectors Calibration transfer standards for the Photonics World. They have also worked closely with NIST Gaithersburg designing custom precision I-V preamplifiers, temperature controlled Radiometers and worked on current Colorimeter Standards to improve their functionality.
