About VueMetrix

VueMetrix, Inc. was founded by photonics industry veteran Jim Chiu. The company was an outgrowth of a predecessor company Optronic Automation (founded in 2000), a manufacturer of automated test and measurement equipment for semiconductor laser diodes used in the telecommunications industry.

In 2003, based on a wealth of expertise gained as a laser diode test and measurement equipment manufacturer, the decision was made to change company’s direction and concentrate on the design and manufacture of a new class of laser diode controllers. That same year, the company name was changed to VueMetrix, Inc.

As VueMetrix, the company focused on developing new ways to manage laser diode command and control and it soon introduced the industry’s first digital laser diode controller. The company’s unique design approach offers customers a higher level of system integration, incorporating the basic laser diode power supply, many safety features as well as control and monitoring functions into one package. The result is a family of OEM-ready laser diode controllers that is easily embedded into a variety of laser diode based systems.

In October 2005, the company needed a larger space that would accommodate its steady growth and moved into a 10,000 square foot facility in Sunnyvale, CA.

In the last four years, VueMetrix has introduced a steady stream of innovative products for optimized laser diode control.

Today, they are creating advanced electronics solutions for laser diode systems that will allow our customers to accelerate new product development and get to market quickly.
