Spectrum Detector Inc is a young company (founded in 2006) but has a wealth of experience in optical sensors, instruments, data acquisition and calibration.



 

 

Pyroelectric Detectors

An extensive line of discrete and hybrid detectors available in standard TO5 and TO8 packages.

  • 1mm to 9mm detector sizes
  • Broadband performance from <100nm wavelength out to THz frequencies (>100um)
  • High responsivity: >50,000V/W
  • Low Noise Equivalent Power (NEP): <0.3nW
  • Flat bandwidth to 10MHz
  • High average power handling up to 500mW of optical power without attenuation.
  • Wide range of windows available: ie Quartz, Barium Fluoride, Sapphire, Silicon, Germanium and HDPE.


For product development and R&D use we offer the Detector Evaluation Box that is compatible with our complete range of hybrid pyroelectric detectors:

  • Voltage or current mode
  • Integrated easy to change 9V battery power (PP3)
  • Selectable load or feedback resistors
  • Interchangable optical accessories (filters, windows, optics and fibre optic connectors)

Analog Radiometric Instruments

A unique modular product line based on Pyroelectric, Silicon and Germanium sensors mated with ultra high performance SMT trans-impedance amplifiers for outstanding radiometric performance.

  • High bandwidth Pyroelectric Instruments

Digital (USB) Radiometric Instruments

Our USB range of digital instruments are plug and play and as easy to use as a webcam.

Simply plug them into your PC’s USB socket, run our free radiometric software and your ready to measure optical power or radiant flux.

We have instruments based on Pyroelectric, Silicon and Germanium sensors. They all have the following benefits and features:

Optical Trap Detectors

For the first time anyone can cross calibrate their optical power meters against a reference detector for which the responsivity is determined by such fundamental constants as the charge of the electron, Planck’s constant and the speed of light.

Our Optical Trap Detectors are based on concepts originally developed at the National Institute of Standards & Technology and are the first commercially available Optical Trap Detectors. They exhibit a Quantum Efficency of >99% and are available for both collimated (NA <0.12) and diverging sources (NA <0.24).

Digital USB Joulemeter Instruments

A unique modular product line based on Pyroelectric and Silicon sensors, fast integrating circuitry, microprocessor and USB connection mounted within a flexible shielded housing for outstanding performance for laser energy measurement.

All instruments are powered via the USB port and include LabView application software for complete instrument control, range, trigger level, wavelength correction etc.

Easy multichannel operation multiple USB ports. Software supports dual channel operation.
