DPSS Lasers

Diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) lasers are used by our customers across the Life and Physical Sciences sectors for applications including microscopy, optogenetics, holography and PIV; as well as by spectroscopy and sensing specialists; and within industry for pumping, micromachining and materials processing.

DPSS lasers are the ideal choice if, for example, you are looking for a 594nm laser for Raman spectroscopy. Only pumped solid state lasers can produce this wavelength, and DPSS lasers such as Cobolt’s Mambo generate high-quality, low-noise beams that are ideal for Raman applications.

Our range

CW DPSS & Diode Modules

High performance CW and modulated lasers in the UV-visible-NIR speDPSS - CW DPSS & Diode Modules, Compact Nanosecond & OPOctrum, as well as Q-switched pulsed lasers, Mid-IR sources and options and solutions for light engine integration, from Cobolt. The 04-01 series has compact and low noise single longitudinal mode CW DPSS lasers from 457-1064 nm, CW power up to 400 mW; the 05-01 series offers single frequency and high power ultra-low noise DPSS lasers from 355-1064 nm, CW power up to 3W; and the 06-01 series are ultra-compact plug-and-play diode & DPSS lasers of 405-660 nm up to 250 mW, with integrated electronics.

Compact Nanosecond

The Cobolt Tor Series of high-performance Q-switched lasers have up to 1W average power, <5ns pulse width and >7kHz pulse repetition rate.


DPSS - Nanosecond-squarePhotonics Industries ns lasers include Pulse Pumped Lasers with high pulse energy up to 2kHz rep rates; Tunable Wavelength Lasers available from 193nm up to 3.4uml; and Single Longitudinal Mode (SLM) options. These are used by our customers for applications such as material processing, distance measurements, and remote sensing.


Photonics Industries also supply our TEM00 Fixed Wavelength lasers, which come in picosecond pulsewidths, ideal for use in a variety of industries including the manufacture of mobile electronics and displays, to medicine and bio-diagnostics.


The Cobolt Odin Series of compact and tunable Mid-IR OPOs are wavelength selectable from 2-5µm, tunable up to 50nm, and operate up to 80mW at 10kHz.
